Sunscreen protection has been important to me since I was a young girl. I then took sunscreen protection much more seriously, after my youngest sister was diagnosed with a benign type of melanoma skin cancer. When I noticed the marks on her skin, I kept telling her to get it checked out. She took my advice and got a skin cancer screening done. She received the scariest diagnosis of her life. Thankfully, it was at an early stage. She was able to get it removed safely, and she is now healthy.
It is not just about protecting our skin from the sun anymore, but also from harsh chemicals. What we use on our skin and consume daily can affect us in ways we don’t think possible. So I’m trying to be more cautious of what brands I use. Kosas has been one of my favorite makeup brands since transitioning to clean brands. Am I fully transitioned; not yet, but I am still learning and researching, but I’ll get there. When I saw Kosas had a facial sunscreen SPF 40, I immediately had to try it. I was nervous because of experiences in the past with SPF, leaving white casts on my face.
I have to say I was not disappointed in choosing this SPF 40 mineral formula. I love that it gives my skin a radiant look with no white cast. DreamBeam SPF 40 does not offer any coverage, but I have noticed that it creates a blurring effect on my skin, making even my pores look smaller. I have some dry skin areas, and this formula is very hydrating on those areas of my skin. It also absorbs very quickly into my skin. Must be the ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and peptides in it that help with hydration and moisture. What I also like is that it is not super greasy like most sunscreens, and it is not heavy on the skin. Although my skin has dry areas, I prefer that this SPF is not too greasy.
This SPF 40 is perfect to be used alone after moisturizing your skin, or as a base under makeup. I love that this does not cause any pilling. I have had experiences before with SPF products not mixing well with other products, Kosas DreamBean does not have that issue. I use any moisturizer I am using the day, this
SPF, and concealer, and have no issue with it pilling. I top everything off with my favorite Kosas LipFuel Lip Balm, and then I go about my day. I sometimes also use it alone, if I’m just going on a quick errand. This SPF 40 has become a staple in my daily routine. With this one, I feel I found a good fit for my skin. I also wanted to mention that I have sensitive skin some products break me out in hives, and this has been great for me no reaction or sensitivity.
Kosas Beautiful DreamBeam SPF 40 sunscreen can be found, at Sephora’s store or website. Also on Kosas website; the price is $40. They now also have a sunlit golden glow version of DreamBeam SPF 40 and a mini DreamBeam SPF 40 for $22.
Disclaimer: I just wanted to point out that just because this works for me and my skin type, does not mean it works for everyone. If you would like to try it, I recommend trying the mini size, like that you can see if it works for you.
